Make the best of the weather while it lasts, expect it will turn cold & wet again, think it would be better to start the season a couple of weeks later when the weather does change, but the Combine want to start early to coincide with the BICC, NFC, Classic races so it does mean getting them going in lower temperatures earlier.

Plenty round here have started, as usual ours were always started when it’s fit, espescially the yearlings, ours are and always have been flown at home after half a dozen or so chucks and only trained when we think they needed it which some years was zero

7 mls this morning, went at 11.30 all managed to get back ok & dodge the Peregrine's.

Yes Neil, going to go it's been overcast at the moment so just waiting to see if the sun is trying to break, will only keep them short again maybe 10mls.

Very overcast here this morning & cold so waited until this afternoon 16 degrees & sun out with broken cloud all back so will go again tomorrow as meant to be warmer, keep them going Neil.

Mike/ Neil, we don't know when released from any given race point which way or direction the pigeons take, my question is to you both say you went training say 16 mls + on a line for the first race point & never went further on distance & stuck at the same point training, do you think they would try to get as near to this point from any given liberation & then head for home as they possibly recognise the area location, or if you went 16+ mls in a cone shape fanning out would they take a different line back depending on wind direction etc, not sure if this post makes any sense to you both, I think I've confused myself overthinking this.

we start 12 April hens yesterday 12 miles and cocks today hens again tommorow took my loft partner 40 mins to get there and 45 back with traffic no good for anyone and can't do anything about ot nightmare tbh and he's letting them go when I get to loft and still got ybs to get out once there back hard work here no easy way round it
