Around 25/26 grams a bird mostly barley
Trained 35 and 50 miles no loft flying and he sends to 500 miles

Anthony Webster who use to post on here was friendly with him and Anthony was good with his hens .
Trouble is I think apart from true widowhood every system favours the hens more than the cocks

I won't race my pigeons. I have crook knees and I couldn't keep up with them

My oldest babies are 8 and 9 weeks old. They fly an hour, just disappear.
Races will probably start in July. All aged racing, young birds, old birds...
By that stage the young birds will be about 30 weeks old.
So I got one of the small training boxes out and gave it a clean and a coat of paint.

If they can fly an hour they can do some work.
All these will be way up the road before they are in a heavy moult.
They will be flown to a natural system, if some of them want to pair up they will have a box.

I think on this subject, time is a factor in how much time you spend with your birds. Any system can work if you put the time and effort needed for that system. taking into account all tasks needed for the system you choose.

15 min morning 30 min night feed and clean
Loft fly hour a night
Sunday day off I leave mine in on a hopper of barley after a feed 10grams of what I think they require then remove the hopper 6pm
