This maybe a good read for some, we are always striving to have our racing pigeons in the best of health. I have put this post up, for the simple reason of there are different ways to source proteins. Even better if you can make a product yourself instead of buying products.

The greenists want to feed us on bugs too!
They have no hope. I will have a nice thick steak, medium rare, rather than a plate full of locusts.
There's about 30 million cattle in Australia at present, so there's no shortage.
The pigeons will certainly eat all sorts of insects and bugs when feeding youngsters. I don't know if I'd want to pay 20 Euros for a bag of bugs though

I beat them to it I often throw in a handful of meal worms, but rather than paying 25quid I just steal the ones the missus buys for the wild birds

Good to hear Steve, I made the post for anyone that may want to try this, We could have some members that have not tried this, So do you feel to is good for your racing pigeons?

Never thought about that
I have used protein powder on a Sunday before but didn’t last year for some reason

Well it doesn't do them any harm. I read an article by Vet Schroeder in which he wrote about animal protein, in fact it made me chuckle because he wrote that he was probably the first to do so, but Alf Baker beat him by about 50years because he mentions animal protein in his book winning Naturally.
