I know what water-viens are. But what have they to do with pigeons? or are you talking about dehydration in pigeons?

A lot of people call him who have health problems. And the most people of this, have canker. If Ernst Dieter visit this people and check their house about water viens, 80 to 90 percent of these people sleep near or directly at a water veins. That's really crazy! your organism can't regenerate, cells can't renew themselves. also pigeons have problems with water viens. they can't orient at flights, If they stay in their loft on a water viens. thats what i know about water viens.

This is what i was told by Jens in Germany.
There a lots of things that have negative impact on health issues but people having been living with them since time began. The annual natural dose of radiation for the average person in the UK is 2.3 mSv. Cornwall the annual radiation dose is 7.8 mSv which is more than three times the UK average. It hasn't stopped the NFC being won in Cornwall many times.
Water viens are everywhere. Southern and eastern England see a greater use of groundwater from aquifers. The underlying geology in these regions often features porous rock formations that serve as natural reservoirs for the percolated rainwater. It too has not stopped pigeons winning many NFC & International races (others have to fly over this area)
If pigeons couldn't orientate over these water viens they wouldn't come home but there is nowhere I know where this does not happen.
Fanciers come up with endless reasons for losing pigeons and possible causes, but until these effect EVERY bird they remain theories.

Yes King i do agree about different Theories, but i just wonder why these good flyers use this guy to visit their lofts. When they have problems,
If they do what can he do? Tell them to move? If it's something in the environment he can't change anything.

Could it not be because the fanciers in the example had damp in there lofts when they had a bad run more than the actual vein
I have only read it quickly but did notice they had damp

You're mellowing George

That's the first time I've seen you use "big losses" and OLR in the same sentence :)

Most of them are the same time frame Neil. I have entered different ones. That is why i like to plan ahead, making sure i have the youngsters in the loft when i choose.
