Hello NeilA/Andy, yes I think that's about as good as it's going to get, will pick my races this season & have a rethink personally as to if I stay with it or pack in.
I fly in a great club only a few members which is a pity but will see what will change if anything for 2025 with racing, but I think it will only get worse unfortunately with the BOP situation, hope you all have good return for the rest of the season.
Regards Dave.

It is such a shame Dave that they don’t seem to want change, or change for the better anyway. I would be more than happy to fly North but that wasn’t even an option at the last AGM. It was either East to West or down the leg.
As a club we, Glastonbury, have been in talks with the newly formed Three Countries Classic Flying Club. This consists of clubs from Cornwall, Devon and West Somerset. They would love to have us join them. At present we are outside of their radius and talks only started after their AGM. They have said that they are happy to convoy us to their longer races. If all goes well they will increase their radius at their next AGM to allow us to join. It will mean that this year we would only be able to race as a club this year but I’m happy with that. They are much more forward thinking than the WOESRC. Racing is only 50p a bird where as the combine is £1 a bird for 34 miles. They have a brand new Geraldy transporter.
We are one of the largest clubs and send the most birds in the combine and I think if we resign from it next year the combine will really struggle.

One or two a year I can understand due to the size but not the amount on tne program
Our fed has a open boundary west it’s a bit of a drive for you but your get to Scotland , although your be driving to mark further than your pigeons are currently racing 😂
What Fed is that Neil? I did look at going to Salisbury and racing with them in the Wiltshire Fed but as I’m not in Wiltshire I would only be able to send effectively as trainers and wouldn’t be able to compete against other members. It is the same if I tried to race with the Dorset Fed. I live in Wincanton which is right on the border of Wiltshire and Dorset but am In Somerset.
As Dave I have no intention of having anything to do with DEFRA or Vets. I couldn’t justify spending £60 on a vet visit, time away from my business for marking, cost of joining any of the Classics and then a minimum of £3.50 a bird just to fly the channel.

If you give an honest breakdown of why birds are lost on races or training, i am sure bad management of the birds will come out on top. Lack of training, birds not in good health due to some kind of virus in the loft. Overall birds were not prepared well to carry our their tasks needed. The health of the birds are paramount to perform.

In some cases yes they may have been involved in a smash of birds, bad weather. Or yes struck by a Bop,

Hello NeilA, Maybe that the parents & last year's youngster's still staying around, how the hell can anyone with an ounce of common sense justify having these many made structures put up & have these killing machines desimating wild bird & racing pigeons.
Regards Dave.

Could well be mate but the definitely claim 8 different birds
I know there everywhere but I can’t help think that the Rpra should do some form of checks when they approve these sites it took under a min to google that when I had birds injured the first week

Yes to lose 3 fed winners in 3 races must be bad management on my part from 100 miles particularly the one with 1-4-5 fed in his last 6 races I must really have managed him bad could never be peregrine could it
How’s your racing going this season any losses of your winners ?
