You see what I mean by this example though

As indicated on my other posts, when the parents are both good pigeons the chances of them breeding good pigeons are improved because you're not asking them to do something un-natural to them.

The first part of the jigsaw about winning races is get the right tools for the job - no matter what distance you want to excel at

Life gets so much easier when you have "good pigeons" because good pigeons respond to you
