Looks a bit tricky Saturday

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

I think I have seen enough information on uk one lofts to make my mind up
Maybe you think like the examples Mike just posted are decent I call them terrible
The "UK Premier OLR" started with 1037 birds

They were certainly down to 378 on the 9th September

I have no interest in these races as it’s a different hobby to what I enjoy
I could see why someone not racing would breed birds for gold rings races and things for others as that’s still a similar thing to what I enjoy
but I do seem to read one loft races here have massive losses but Devo may be right as I don’t know much about them just what I read in returns like Mikes posted

I struggle with that man’s videos devo so I won’t watch
I believe losses by fanciers is down to a few things
Buying pedigree without winners in there last 2 generations so shit breeding shit

Mixed ages together so some being stopped from roaming and others just followers and not learning

Very early breds left and not trained and probably not in a real good system from early in life

Health ,pigeons trained when not in good health

I bred 45 last year after 4 races had 36 all natural in two sections one for each age
I have a club mate who noticed this last year he weaned 20 may hatched he still has 16 well trained daily now he has there first race this week so that will be interesting

Phil started training 28... 3-4 weeks into the YB programme he's currently at 23

They've all had at least 2 races and scores of tosses (well at least 50)

one lofts seem to be very high Devo
I understand that’s your thing and obviously support them so we will have to disagree, there not for me I couldn’t even tell you who won any of them

That’s what it’s all about doing what you like if that’s your interest I got no issue with it it’s not my business to have
I just think someone or some body should look into the one lofts like our own RPRA one and find out why the bloke had 550 birds and now doesn’t have 50 and there’s loads like that
Is it health / poor management
There seems no restrictions on who can do this all you need is a bit of land you can’t really lose out

I started racing with 31 babies after 5 races I have 30 left none have nighted out this week will be their last race if I send as they are falling apart. I don’t believe in any of these crackpot theories  when fanciers lose youngsters hand over fist they are either not good enough or not healthy. OLR is interesting, I like one lift racing but don’t bother with the UK ones any more as the attrition rates are awful. Last couple of years I’ve sent to the Thailand olr where the loses are generally far less.
