May be Mike but in 20 yrs iv seen 1 grizzle in all the clubs that could race iv never seen a chocolate or a yellow in fact iv never seen a yellow get home for lad that kept them ,,
Iv seen odd shalie n odd mosiac but can count one one hand in 20 years.
Ant I'd say that over 85% of pigeons raced are blue or cheq. Is it any wonder that those two colours produce the majority of the winners? And your right you don't see many chocs or yellows at marking and very few ever win because very few get raced. Grizzles are more common and have been winning races for many years, there even more common since the kittles arrived. A fancier local to me had a decent yellow years ago it won many cards over the channel. There was a post on chat where somebody said that near white pigeons never win, but I could name 3 that have won 1st Open NFC.
That’s a good point. I’ve been helping out doing the NRCC result this year and have noticed a reasonable amount of grizzles in the result, in fact a grizzle was first open Fraserburgh. I’m fairly sure I never entered a chocolate or yellow into the results software.

Many Grizzles amongst them Anthony
Got nothing against grizzles pal but no there's no grizzles ,I had a brilliant breeder a dark cock off van d brand super grizzle lol
Just you must admit the amount of grizzles in auctions n blizzard this super blizzard that n all 99.9 percent useless I don't see the lads in belaer racing these birds n racing them now in tour of Belgium gambling for 30,000 euros a race these are bred marketed for foreign fanciers us idiots in uk usa China n so on ,,the sprint flyers in the villages in Belgium ain't buying them.
The naming of youngsters bred for sale doesn’t do much for me . I guess it sells though
I also don’t even read the advert if the loft doesn’t race they can have the best pigeons in the world and breed loads of winners but if they don’t race I move on .
I don’t understand all the strains and names I would have to ask Mike
I use to get the Belgian papers when I was about 19 that’s the last time I looked a Belgian result so i would be useless at knowing who is best currently
I try to look what the blokes won over 3 years in the uk more in old bird races and go from there to check things out
Not that I’m much of a buyer anyway
To skint or to tight one of the two
I get sent alot of results from belgium
One name last season and man average sending 6 birds was beating the famous names regularly and you can buy he's baby's in lier market for 35euro each lol.
I don't like auctions where flyers race in 2,3,4 different feds I don't like flyers who race only baby's, then there's areas where there's loads of feds in small area so all the sellers can get there wins ,,and then there's studs that buy pedigrees two just breed from most these wouldn't know how to race,,
Then there's birds they have names n never seen race crate ,they have a page written about them and they have done nothing there self's this I don't like my personal opinion if a man names a animal its two keep not to be moved on ,
Iv friends and lots none of them do auctions none of them do fashion pigeons but they race outstanding Yr in Yr and when these lads do get the in fashion birds 9 out 10 times when tested they spew it and go down ,,get these in fashion birds be a eastly loft n put them 200 miles north east wind on nose against drag and off line these pigeons be not a few minutes behind there be hours I only know this because iv tested them ,,the best kittles they were super weak for me and slow they ain't sprint pigeons because mine were as slow as Sunday and we know how slow Sunday goes ,the ones I tried was of best kittles children n absolutely shocking if it spitted with rain they want to pull out batch n Goe in trees absolutely rubbish.

You know, if i was racing now the one thing i wouldn’t consider would be the colour
The performances would be paramount, and a pigeons colour and eye (for instance) would have zero influence on me
isn't this what we should all be focusing on performance, if it hasn't got winner's across several generations it's a big risk to part with your hard earned cash or have I got it wrong, no doubt someone will put me right.

I agree Dave
As close to multiple winners as we can get to the left of the pedigree

Hello Neil, to many Peds look good from generations well down the line, my thinking is you want consistent winners being thrown each generation not paper pigeons from decade's ago or never seen the inside of a race basket, in my mind not a one hit wonder.
Also another problem I can see is you bring pigeons in but you can't replicate the system from the seller, as has been said before better stockmanship & skill in getting the best out of them.

What type of performance pal
There's lads winning where birds fly over there loft and fair play but can't see these birds helping flyers who live in bad locations and away from drag of birds ?
Then there's unreal performances
3 I note last couple of yrs a lad here called Nathan bougen went 2nd nrcc on strong east wind flying ro kingslynn and winner was in Nottingham I think this was unreal
Another one was nrcc Fraserburgh 2022 winner was in alford nr Skegness this was super tough race and 2nd open was a loft flying over hundred miles more to Essex right down in Essex this pigeon was unbelievable,
Another one was nrcc Dunbar yb winner was in alford nr Skegness but I'm sure there was a yb raced by man in Essex he's second name was ling this yb flew well over 100 miles probably 120,30 miles more to be near top of open ,,
Now personally I would rather 6 baby's of these birds than 24 from a loft topping feds where they fly over there roof race day ?.

Agree
I sometimes think should I avoid heavy trainers if you can do what they do
Maybe that can be overcome with feed to so e level but that kind of thing

Tell you what Shaun McDonough don’t half get a turn outta the Best Kittel (to no loft location advantage)
He and Trumpy are the best 2 sprinters in the West Mids at the mo
