I think you're onto a good idea with the cocks

The bit that you might find emotionally challenging is if the cocks racing ability is impacted by the hens racing too

So, it's a bit of a fact finding mission

Me, I'm never afraid to experiment because its only by doing this that you learn




Take Phil we're on a completely different YB feeding regime this year

It's not for me to be honest, I feel out of control.

I gave Phil the option to revert back at the weekend but he's happy with the new regime at the mo, so we'll continue that way

But the judges scorecard will be assessed at the end of the YB season you can be assured of that

Can I ask Neil why don’t you breed out of your racing cocks?
In theory these should be superior to what they’re bred out of if your breeding is right. I know some will still be being tested/unproven. But as you know I don’t keep stock birds. The only stock birds I would keep would be retired races, but they would have already proved their breeding quality before being stopped. So for me as much as I’m testing a birds racing ability I’m also testing their future breeding potential.
