Any can make a mistake. We don’t know why they have gone missing. We may know that they were only 6 miles from home but how do they? They don’t. It’s those that continually make mistakes that we don’t want.
I had a stray youngster come into me earlier this year from a fancier around 12 miles from me. It had gone missing that day from a bad toss where a hawk had gone into them. I phoned the owner and he picked it up the same day. This pigeon has won his club twice this year, including this weekend when it was 1st club, 4th section, 11th open 3 Counties, and a fourth club.

Well a week later and the birds are doing really well now I open up the trap and their out like bullets no stopping on any roof's and flying for a good 2 hour before coming back and in through the trap to my call and shaking of the corn.
on a good point, the neighbour asked me did I have pigeons (thought here we go) but it was fine she said "I love pigeons my grandad use to keep them, in she came for a look with her 3 kids and is letting her dad know so next time he's visiting she'll bring him in.
Great when the neighbours are on your side BONUS !!!!

Defo a bonus Buster makes things a lot easier for me mate.
Yes I'm made up with the progress of the birds so far they are improving every day, and to see them return and come in to my call is great to see, a couple of these birds are starting to stand out for me, a couple keen to be let out when I go to the loft, and some who are now showing themselves as Cock birds around the loft

Birds are up and away again today gives me time to clean out and fresh water in for them
I have had what looks like a young scrag of a pigeon on the loft roof, it landed yesterday as my birds trapped, really nice colour like a dark checker, but only notice today there's no ring on it so must be a scrag, don't want that in the loft.
Any ideas how to stop it coming back with my birds

I get birds from under the bridge up the road coming in my garden and sitting on houses most morning when I go up garden they fly off roof, all I can say is I try and keep scaring them off but they just return
