I know John Angwin who you are racing your birds with in Cornwall. He is a very good flyer. He races with us in the Three Counties Classic Racing Pigeon Club (3Cs). This week if he decides to send those birds with us to Stoney Cross instead of Yeovil with the Cornish Combine as it’s our first young bird race with all sections going together they could be racing against 2,000+ birds. That will be a real test for them. Good luck with them Tony.

Hi Andy, yes John did say he had two different races this week just waiting to hear which one he will send to.

How far is the Three Counties Classic race

For me it’s only 34 miles Tony. For John down in Penzance it will be around 156 miles. They are in section D we are section B. At present though this race point is in a bit of doubt for this weekend as it’s in the New Forrest and that is on fire at the moment, third day today.

Sorry to hear that news on the fire Andy hopefully they get under control asap but the have their work cut out with these fires mate

They could go on to Littlehampton, for me fine at 89 miles but a big jump for those further down the West. But they would still probably be flying over the area of the fires. Or they could could come back to Blandford which for me is only 18 miles. No good for me with over 2,000 birds going up. The most likely thing is that they would cancel this weeks race. Next week we are at Chale on the Isle of Wight 57 miles for me.
They are slowly getting it under control but a mate of someone in the 3Cs who is a firefighter has been called down there for 48 hours .

Forest fires are scary, and I always feel for the wildlife caught in them.
If they need some water we have plenty. We've had inches of rain over the past few days. Driving to Bendigo today there were people flashing their headlights at us. I thought it was the policeman and his tax gathering camera, so I looked, I was just under the speed limit. But no, I turned a corner and the road was a river. Up to a foot deep and running swiftly across the road. We crossed slowly and carried on.
It's been a wet old winter.

Shropshire olr had 350 birds this year at the start after first hot-spot race a couple of days ago they down to 19 birds crazy I can't see it getting past 2 more races

I've looked at several in the UK shropshire probably the smallest most of them started with over a thousand birds and are already down to 3 -400 and not even halfway through the program.
Don't care what anyone says its not good for our sport but because there's money in it ppl don't give a shite!

Why would you want to go to Chale I've never understood that financially or the dumb asses that come up with a race program for that season just mental to go there.

I can understand if you can't have pigeons because of health issues it keep an interest, but this has got silly to my mind not only for the animal rights people that's just ammunition for them. Even with the health issues with large amounts of pigeons coming together from all across the country if that correct only 19 pigeons back that's crazy after a couple of races.
