It actually looks pretty ordinary, doesn't it?

When those babies come out I'll scrub that box and give it a coat of paint. It had been left empty for a while until I put him in there with his hen to get him out of the loft.

I've been messing about training a few cocks, late breds from last year and this year, with the intention of jumping them in a race in a couple of weeks.
I lost two last week, admittedly the least promising two, so there's six left. I'm having second thoughts about the whole thing. It would mean they'd have to fly over 100 miles on their own and I don't know if it's worth the time, effort and expense to put them in the position to be lost.
They've done well in the training, but they aren't absolutely screaming home in the tosses like last year's team and have never loft flown terribly well. More interested in the girls.
The good one has raised a nice pair of babies and he's only 5 1/2 months old. And the cock baby is like it's father and it's grandfather the Pitbull. It's an attack baby.

So I think I'll hang on to them for now. There's no prize for sending them when you know they aren't really in with a winning chance.

Murray, in the place where you live. With there being no club racing.for your birds to be flown. I feel you will have to prepare well on your breeding, Get the orders for youngsters in soon as, then you can then work on the breeding needed. Its all about getting your program done. You are not in the best of health, so no added stress needed. Just plan well, so you have a less stressful life.

Thanks Devo, for the kind words and advice.
Actually I do have a broad idea of what I need to be breeding, I'm looking at orders for maybe 100.
Terry and Pete are coming over from Horsham shortly, we'll sit down and work out a more detailed plan of when the youngsters need to be ready for various races, auctions, etc.
I do enjoy playing around with a few young birds, but I need to focus on the breeders.

The little hen baby hopped out of the box and was wandering around. I let it have a poke around for a while with half an eye on it then picked it up and put it back in it's box.
