Mark bulled always says we should have 2 Newark’s 95 miles for babies then nothing under Wetherby 157 miles
I think he's spot on pal
I think so I never use to but these last three years I worked out my Peterborough Grantham and Newark yb winners do very little as old birds
My best have just been steady never way behind the first ones by say 6/7 mins off the batch
I never really look at yb resulrs if buying from a fancier
I like just see there results split into old and young a lot can be hidden with flying ybs on a system with good health with time to road train daily how you want
I had a hen 1-8-7 fed in 3 yb races so I stopped her
She was never in the club cards again as a yearling let alone fed cards
One year after selection I had 11 cocks 7 were fed winners as old birds yet between them as ybs they had only 2 fed cards in 5 races all 7 were good old birds one was 2nd London combine another 4th London combine on top as old birds
My best old birds were best baby's from last 3 yb races but best team iv ever bred or raced are
Born may weaned June
Trained before batching
At 9,10,11 weeks old were sent with fed as trainers each time they come to top fed
As old birds 7 races won fed 5 times could of been 7 fed wins if I was told mnfc counted as a channel fed race they was best in clocking station 2 out the 3 mnfc races 12 months old
They won 43 from 49 prizes
As 2 yrs old come out was beat 2 times then topped fed n week after black Saturday I lost a load of toppers that day they was old bird champions in Wisbech club again the hens went north and won 4 first following Yr north and 1,2,3 in bbc section winning a gold medal
This team was my favourite iv ever had the stars are in stock loft now and one as bred a treble fed winner all ready.
