I normally use tollisan ph control but it's changed its ph and broncol control now but it seems OK with the birds I don't use there dose but everything seems OK with it.
I bought some of that at Doncaster but not used it yet as I’m mid-way getting the birds / lost tested for respiratory issues that I think cost me this past YB season. The testing place in Ireland say they’ll tell me exactly what the loft has or hasn’t got, then provide a specific treatment rather than a broad spectrum.
Once I get the results I’ll treat and build from there.

For those of you tinkering with Virkon S how are you finding it?
Bought a tub at Donny, not been brave enough yet to add it to the water, but will do soon.

I'd never recommend you boys something I hadn't tried and trusted on my own birds
I know you wouldn’t. What would you suggest to start with? 1 day a week or a few consecutive days?

I was contemplating using it in the bath Mike but think I'll do a 5 day course probably start of January. And I'll send samples away 10 days later see if anything is picked up. The only thing they will have had apart from the odd supplement since August will have been their PMV vaccine so will be interesting to see the results.

Yes, I look forward to seeing/hearing
Obviously not testing because I doubt you Mike, testing because if I get a clean bill of health from just 5 days Virkon I'll be a happy man.
Obviously they'll be wormed beforehand too.

Would a 5 days or so course do the same job against paratyphoid as baytril or parastop prior to a pmv/ para vaccination or is the form of salmonella different
I use para stop one year baytril the next normally I’m thinking should I have just gone straight to virkon prior to vaccination for my stock
My racers I haven’t treated with parastop this year as I had a test done that came back clear .I never had the stock tested though as I thought droppings from 4 sections might lead to wrong test results in the racers and I thought it’s the racers I wanted to check more plus it’s over £100 a pop
I think 7 or 10 days bleach in winter is better than verkon pal my opinion tho

My opinion 7 days thick bleach birds will never look better any where after any medicine or supplements not sure why but bleach is unbelievable.

2022 my birds went of they got 7 days bleach and rested that week on the weds got a 30 mile toss Thursday I drove from Norfolk to Rugeley and sent 13 hens to bicc, bbc perth it's 297 miles to me they released birds was 15 mph with gusts to 25mph s,west wind nose wind for me , birds come brilliant all 13 hens on day and good lofts 100 miles short some got few some didn't clock 8 out my 13 made first 40 of open and best were 2,3,5 open these got no antibiotics no supplement just bleach n then tap water straight from tap .
I still think and will always think bleach for bird's definitely does something for the better not the worse.
