338 from 4700 birds of the highest quality not bad for race 4 don't think it's going to win anything but nice to see a bird I only had 45 days to judge competing well for them

Ill throw an odd one in here from a fancier most people probaly don't know.
Heinz Bindacz B-043 A direct son of the Famous Olympiade 003 from leo heremans and the best breeding son in all of germany. Heinz Bindacz is one of the top fanciers in germany with his birds placing top 20 positions in the ace birds of germany each year.
We was fourtunate enough to own a son of B-043 and he was one of our best breeders. Sadly this year he was diagnosed with cancer so the bird is sitting out the rest of his life in calm in our lofts. But he still fertelized 2 eggs earlier this year before the diagnosis.

1,1,2,5,12,13,13,16,18th in fed
1st Ace Cock Fed
1st Ace Yearling Fed
1st Ace Pigeon Month June and July.

His nest sibling The 22-59 Won in our loft
5/5 Price cards as a YB After we kept her for stock and in her first breeding year she bred
1st fed vs 641p
9th fed vs 442p

These are just a few of the top pigeons he bred but sadly it all came to an end. Most certainly a top breeder tho and maybe something more people would appreciate here instead of me going on about my grizzles again etc

The thing about the Breeding side of the sport, selection is a must.and quality will always come through. JMO

@devo yes that my opinion also, start with the best quality you can get and stick to the 25 percent rule and you will create a reliable family of birds that do the job consistently

Yes but its also always a question of how fast people select.

Birds in our loft get to stay longer then probaly in most peoples loft but thats mainly because We only breed 1 round of YBs for racing out of them so theres only limited offspring to test others may get 4-6 ybs out of 1 couple per year to race for so they can tell faster if a couple works or not.
Another reason why i dont like to get rid of breaders fast even tho they might not have done well within 1-3 years is that alot of times its not the fault of an individual bird in my opinion the couple just didn't fit. So if we dont breed anything atleast decent out of a couple we repair them the following year to a different hen/cock.

Yes selection is the upmost priority in breeding but i feel like alot of people don't give their birds proper chances They breed 1 year from them with partner breed 4-6 yb's maybe non of them will win and they get gone of the couple. You could argue the point that "A good breeder has to work with every partner" but in my world atleast thats not the case and not true. If it fits it fits and if it dont it dont. And for me you cant find that out within 1 year and just 1 partner for the bird.

@leon they get 2 years with us 2 rounds a year I feel within 8 offspring I know if they are worth keeping, that doesn't mean the bird is bad but from 8 over two seasons it will show us enough if they are at the level we expect, the issue is because we test so many we have a decent amount from the top 25 percent of them each year who will get there chance to either breed or move on for next year's yearlings so 2 years is the longest most will get in the breeding loft unless there success rate is high

That is the whole part of this topic, It is good to know other peoples thoughts on the breeding side of the sport. My mind is always on the breeding side, look for that spark to make things ignite.
I love the researching side of different birds, some i have never knew about. A cup of tea and a laptop, and i am off all over the world.

Some cracking looking pigeons there Danny, my eyes where drawn to the Grizzles I know looks are not everything in a pigeon but they look top quality mate there are a couple of Hens and Cock there that would go well in my new loft I'll keep an eye on them see how the bidding goes mate
