I normally use tollisan ph control but it's changed its ph and broncol control now but it seems OK with the birds I don't use there dose but everything seems OK with it.

Cocci an interesting subject, I’m always checking mine in the summer months and have never had them totally cocci free, and different times of day give different results. What’s your thoughts?

Think cocci opens the door to everything else,,
And lofts with coli yiu smell straight away smells similar to cat piss hits you soon as you open door ,,as for respo if you handle the bird and push its head back into its shoulders if it as respo it will start sneezing and holding beak open a little heavey respo it will snot straight down palm of ya hand ,,my pal in Kent won on a Saturday on the Sunday I handled winner I compressed him and bird was gapping straight away i said I treat him kev he ain't right he said na it's OK they won yesterday following Saturday 7mins of pace of winners .

Cocci isn't a big worrier for me

Most pigeons have low levels of cocci present and can function quite happily like that.

Pigeons carrying moderate levels of cocci can and do win. I know that for a fact.

Pigeons carrying high levels of cocci - that's a bit more of a concern; because that's form impeding

In 2024 Mike my baby's got fat eye so I phs send me test kits for birds I had them culture tested for everything and worm,cocci,canker as well by time I got results birds looked well again, but culture said mild mycoplasma I expected this because 2 yrs previously I had fat eye culture tested but in 2024 the cocci count was way above average there vet sent baycox but I expected 24 to 48 hour treatment on baycox but there vet said 7 days solid so I followed there advice,,then a friend who uses herbot as vet was told by them 48 hours baycox repeat again 7 days later for 48 hours so different advice from different vets ,
Iv had tests done since 2008 and first time I had high cocci so was bit gutted .

Iv not had em snot pal but the man who taught me said he's had birds he's checked snot right down he's hand ,,but iv had mine gapping and raced unreal Saturday normally happens after racing with east in wind think this plays a big part in there breathing racing on East winds.

Mike - I dont know either nor do I know how long you have to push the birds head back into its shoulders.

A few seconds and you tell dave but 5 seconds you definitely know ok pal .

What do u think of freak training times on 3 occasions this yb season my training spot is 18.1 miles ok
My son would call me saying 1 bird as done ot in 15 mins batch 17 mins 3 times this young cock flew 3 mins quicker than the rest when he was sitting eggs ,when driving or unpaired he drop with batch I'm sure 1 toss on tail wind he done it in 14 minutes or something he stands out because he's only dark pied in yb team .
It makes me think some times when a natural bird does a great result against widowhood lads n puts a gap in two them.

I think a well trained natural that’s flown well at home can beat a widowhood for a short period of time
I use do well with yearlings paired after about 5 races on the first eggs
But they had been fit flying the good hour at home for a few months
I think it’s harder to get a natural fit that has remained paired without the flags or a good 40 mile toss most days then they find there nesting position when properly fit
I haven’t got much more knowledge than that on it

I agree but can't stand the mess in loft when there paired it drives me mad ,,I like my birds split n watching them really fly hard at home.

Mine be 25 days ,tried it hated the mess drives me crazy and cleaning them proper before work took ages
