Sure you wouldn’t be viewed that way, clubs need new blood are there any fanciers near you that you could approach?

Yes he can send a letter to the club secretary but it won't be voted on until the Club's AGM if he gets in or not.

When I joined my club there was 4 clubs locally in my area I made a call to the club secretary that I wanted to fly with, she said it wouldn't be a problem & that they would except me in the club but that it would be voted on at the AGM. We as a club except anyone I've never in all my time have they not allowed a new member or old member to reaply even if they've chosen to fly with another club for however long, always been accepted, none of this stopping people joining for whatever reason.

If you’re in the radius and want to join can’t see why it would need voting on, what would be the grounds for the objection? Has anyone seen it? A partnership who I have visited a few times would move about every few years as flyers left as they was winning a lot of things, so when they went to join up somewhere else they would get rejected only thing I could see from that is they don’t like the competition.

I am sure your E-Mail will be sitting with the secretary awaiting the A.G.M., he could have acknowledged it. But failing that, E.Mail. the secretary again asking when the A.G.M. is, and that may stimulate an answer.

Diamond Dave wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 8:33 am Well there you have it Held, sorry that your post has been hijacked.
But now you have a couple of options on the state of the RPRA.
One from someone who is trying to get change for the sport and bring it into the 21st century by recognising the value of technology and one from someone who is living in the cretaceous period.
It’s good to get other people’s thoughts and opinions on it. Some things definitely need changing ask a 20 year old what a postal order is and I’m sure they wouldn’t know. I watched a video about who the target flyer should be and while it could be everyone what was suggested is a good idea, people retiring who will have time and potentially money to get set up and hopefully gets the grandkids involved which in turn may get their parents involved. Another thing I’ve read about or heard is plenty of people talking but when positions become available no one wants to step up. Not sure of the ratio regarding younger to older flyers on committees? Let’s hope whatever happens it moves in the right direction and is in the best interest of the sport.
Good post Held.
I'm not getting sucked in to any political argument as its all been said before.
In anycase its evident from how you have been treated in your first experience that it looks like you can already see where the land lies. I have recently had an 18yo lad that wants to start racing that has suffered similar (and worse) treatment.
Mine is not just an opinion - it is an observation.
Anyway, I just wanted to wish you well with whatever you decide to do and just wish I was a bit closer to you to help out with some guidance in getting set up. Unfortunately I don't have the same experience to help out with racing but the guys on here will freely offer all the advice you need - despite any political persuasion  .

Might be best to have the same as most in the club
I have Unikon as my fed combine and nerd marking now seem to be 90 per cent Unikon
Plus worm on here is a expert on Unikon and helps loads of people with problems
I couldn’t say what ones best though my friends just moved to benzing so he can allocate his own Pigeons in his club

Glad you got in a club ok
Yes they’re also unikon so just keeping my eye out for one. No doubt I will have questions if no manual with the one I buy. Any particular unikon you’d recommend been offered a champ with 4 pads £600 practically brand new.
