As you know Dave the losses in the One Loft Arena can be quite significant

Getting one let alone both to the Final would be a super achievement.

Yep I agree Mil two back would be outstanding. But to go through the programme they would have to be a bit special.
Starting up its really difficult to get good birds. No-one wants to sell from their race team. If you buy children of their best to breed from. You would still be breeding from unproven. In the past I bought direct from the best I could afford a few from Parkside superman for example and they never bred a light. I would never breed from unraced / tested again

Whilst there's no guarantees with anything in pigeon racing it seems logical to me that a pedigree that's full of pigeons that have performed at both racing and breeding for consecutive and successive generations have a much greater chance of repeating the same trick

I agree but all I can go is from my experience I bought stock birds with very flashy pedigrees and been very disappointed. Breed the best to the best and hope for the best

What I mean Dave is seeing every generation tested on the road and performed, as oposed to maybe a couple of generations where they've not seen the basket.

I used to buy the best I could and chuck em onto the garden and race them - then only the elite moved to Stock once they'd proved themselves on multiple occasions

Your right MIl the only way is to test them, I think some of the studs sell great grandchildren of proven, then sometimes only on the one side. Too much scope for dilution

Whether they descend from Champions or Chumpions it made no odds to me

I just wanted to know what have the parents done and what have the G.Parents done

Colour and such like never ever entered into the equation for me
