You shouldn't have to justify yourself on here mate but please don't keep saying that OLR are good for the sport because they most certainly are not!
Dave, nothing personal. But it was you that entered the OLR, not me. Lol. Have a great day, mate.
What i am sayiing OLR can be good for some, that cant keep birds. But choose well, do your research.

From someone who has only just got Pigeons a few weeks back, I can say for the last 2 years I have bought Y/Bs off a fancier I have followed on YouTube for about 5 years now, watch all his Live Races and his results from Cornwall.
Last year I bought 2 Y/Bs and he put them in to a OLR he advised in Cornwall as he puts his birds in there to, so my 2 birds went in that OLR about 800+ birds that year. I watch the live streams on loft flying, training ect right up to the 6 or 7 races they had every Saturday weather permitting starting in October 2025.
I did have some luck at one of my Y/Bs won the 3rd race so with just one win it paid for my YBs and them to entre the OLR so I wasn't out of pocket. I found this OLR owner and workers to be the highest standard with the birds and lofts, information, contact and live streams each week.
I have bought 2 more birds from the same Fancier and put them in the same OLR in Cornwall I have no issues with OLR but I know you have to shop round, take advice before you put any birds into it. I am looking forward to the racing starting in October this year there are over 1000 birds entered.

There is plenty of well run olrs around but losses are going to happen and on a bigger scale then club racing as the variables are greater, also a lot of people simply sending birds that are not good enough or was bred from inferior none tested birds, ones like Shropshire will come and go as I don't see anyone sending to him again! But uk premier is well run it's simply that very few yb, s are going to complete the programme as they are not good enough it's incredibly demanding seeking to find the exceptional few, I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's here to stay and only going to get bigger for good or bad, personally I enjoy to track the series I enjoy breeding for them also the 45 day challenge is interesting to me with such short judgment period based purely on your understanding of the maturing rate of parents! There early character traits and structure and the demands of the programme, can we say honestly the losses in club yb racing make the sport look good either? Or do we not view it with that lens and like I said we view it for what it is usually an incredibly hard calendar culminating in a 250 to 350 final race for yb that's never going to have big returns!

There is talk about John Crehan, starting a OLR. Not sure how much to enter. For some of the new members, that may not know of John Crehan.

Career Highlights and Wins: Known as the "Manchester Maestro," he won first national from Ancenis with a single entry named Solo Warrior.Won the prestigious Golden Duif UK and Republic of Ireland Championship.Raced under the historical partnership name Crehan & O'Connor, though managed solely by John.Secured numerous federation and combine first prizes using elite stock from Jan Hooymans (including descendants of the famous Harry)
