Yes Dev, I was. It was a massive error of judgement on my behalf and one I deeply regret.
All it has done is expose how poor and shameful these organisations are to a pub full of non- fanciers who are now asking all the wrong questions about pigeon racing
The banter was good to start with but has now turned sour with a couple of "tree- hugging, earth mothers" making things a little uncomfortable.
This is not the image our sport needs. You say you don't send to any British organisations Dev but you are still promoting them by supporting the concept.

Yes the grand final of the Meadow One Loft race will be next Saturday. I'm not sure of the distance yet, but last year it was 410 miles.
As Devo said the Bendigo Invitation Homing Club syndicate, in which we have ours, still have 5 of the original 7 .

One, Veebee, is a daughter of Free Beer, who went right through to the final last year. VeeBee is by an Eijerkamp cock off imported pigeons. Lovely pigeon but I think he's a bit fragile and maybe not the sort to breed OLR pigeons.

Our other one is TNFS, a grizzle youngster out of a daughter of the Billiondollarbaby. He's not much good. He continually gets home eventually. That said, he always gets home when there are a lot that haven't. He's by a pigeon we were given for stock that has been disappointing.

As someone said, if they are there you are in with a chance. You have no chance if they aren't. True.
The first prize is Au$75,000. I'm confident we won't win it.
But I'm learning. Next year there's going to be some different pigeons. ;) :D

Dave to be honest, i am supporting pigeon racing. Whichever way you look at it, some like OLR and some dont. Buy keeping the results coming through for other members, I dont feel that is promoting OLR.
When you are not involved in the sport anymore, whatever part you can play. Is a big thing to me. But you wont understand, my true feelings of being on the outside looking in. Because that is my life, but i only
wish it could be different. By the way 3 birds home out of 16 in Shropshire OLR, and that is not promoting a very bad run OLR.

To me Dev that statement seems somewhat hypocritical. By condoning these organisations you are condoning what is an UNETHICAL loss of pigeons which iyou are saying is good for ppl like yous but NOT good for pigeon racing.

A total Shambles, should be stopped you pay a certain amount for so many pigeons to be activated when you enter, without a thought for the welfare of the pigeons at all. As soon as the influx starts coming in each year then training & hot spot races before the final race if they've any left that is just a joke, does nothing to encourage anyone to take up pigeons racing just the opposite.

Dave, Lets hope people dont choose these lofts to send too. But i dont understand why putting a result up of a OLR, is looked at that i am promoting this loft. I have already stated i dont fly any birds in UK OLR, So people like me have a choice, how i spend my money. I have just come back from my mates loft, I took the young lad back to get some more birds. He walked away with combine winners fed winners. And also a hen from the grand national winner. I am not in the sport now, but i will still help others if needed.

There are so many OLR going on daily.

Nothing personal Dev. It's not just based on just 1 or 2 posts. If you go back thro the thread a very large percentage of your posts are "pro" olr races.
You shouldn't have to justify yourself on here mate but please don't keep saying that OLR are good for the sport because they most certainly are not!
