Just a quick update on this bird. He had 5 chucks out to 30 miles along with the others, then sent to the first race 88miles as a trainer and he was the only one I dropped.
Likely gone back to wherever he had been.
I cant help wondering if it would have been different if he'd have had a box and a hen but pleased I gave him another chance.
Just got one back!

You are all correct of course, but if it happens again I think I would make sure the bird was a bit more settled before putting it in a race basket. I think that was my mistake.

You were right in the first place Mike.
As a fancier, you were/are focused on only one thing, whereas for me, there are so many "variables" in this game and while I will always ask for advice and opinions, I still like to try things out for myself.

Aaahhh Mike, you have done everything and won everything there is to do and win in pigeon racing through total, unphased dedication and unwavering focus.
What you have achieved is admirable but I believe we are two very different people. Nowt wrong with that of course, but my goals are not the same and I don't have that same dedication as you had and am not so devoted to winning everything as you obviously must have been.
I love my birds and consider them to all be "good" birds
My way of thinking is that this one could well have been a "good" bird but I didn't really give him the best chance.
Having said that, I obviously understand your take on it and am always grateful for your input, comments and guidance.
