RPRA one loft race
They never learn. Having raced YBs many times over 300/370 miles, they take some preparing. It's too far if you just send everything in the loft regardless of condition (which they do). I'll bet the majority sent today will never make it home. 200 miles would have been a more realistic distance for the final race.

Brilliant Murray, good luck to you and the syndicate.
Just wondering if that graph came about through your own analysis or was it produced from the OLR tech?

According to Benzing 1636 birds were entered into this race of which 754 made it to the final on Sunday last at the time of viewing 413 had made home so 1223 (75%) of the original entry are on the missing list and you think that’s a system that works?

Well spotted BB - theres no hiding place when it comes to social media.
Looks like the damage was done before the final race. When it comes to the final race the percentage returns look ok but when you analyse it overall it really is just as poor as most of the OLRaces.
I have done an analysis of my own YB losses this year and it was just under 50%. However, I missed 3 races due to YBS, so I think it could have easily been similar to Murrays OLRace had I continued to race those 3 weeks. I suspect from what I have heard around my own circles that most ppls losses would be in a similar
bracket.
Im not condoning OLR as I dont agree with them either, in particular the ones that are run in this country.

I can't comment on other UK fanciers on losses, but the 6 ybs I bred for a fancier local to me, specifically to send to the MNFC National race. They flew every race to the National some 252 miles. His first 2 birds were mine and he got 4 from 6, and I believe they were the longest flying birds in the race on the result.Murray wrote: Fri Sep 19, 2025 10:24 pmYes I do think it works.Bowbroom wrote: Fri Sep 19, 2025 12:57 pm According to Benzing 1636 birds were entered into this race of which 754 made it to the final on Sunday last at the time of viewing 413 had made home so 1223 (75%) of the original entry are on the missing list and you think that’s a system that works?
From the original 1633 entries they were down to 1453 before training started. Pigeons that went down sick, didn't home , etc.
So more than half of the trained pigeons made it through all the training and 2 races. I don't know about the UK this year but that is better than many people flying in club/fed racing have had here this year.
I have spoken to people who have had almost no pigeons left before the first race. The losses have been shocking.
Yes the final was disappointing, but 413 home on what has turned out to have been a bad race is still a credit to the organisers. They cannot control the weather.
If telling the truth as I see it is as you describe my opinions then so be it, you are what you are and I am what I am, imo you can’t stand to be disagreed with as you have shown many times in the past I will leave it to the other observers to decide.
I do wonder at times when reading some of your offerings if I’m wasting my time, who knows, with your connections I might be the next to be banned?
