Doesn’t look like the loft gets much sunshine

I'm in the dark as much as this loft is, any clues Mike with this one.

Well for starters its a British loft (as opposed to on the continent)

Drawn a blank with this one Mike unfortunately, I can't remember seeing a loft like this at all, looks very dark from the picture & from decades ago.
