This will be my first winter season, I've not split any of the birds up yet I will be leaving them together though to the end of November then I will split them up as I am not pairing up until Blackpool weekend that's my target date.
I have been getting some materials in Pans, Felts ect ready for the breeding season, so fingers crossed I will get some Y/Bs of the pairs I will be looking at 12 pairs and looking at taking 2 rounds off each of them

Don't worry about fingers crossed, Tony, pigeons will breed anywhere. If they have a box and a bowl, and they are in reasonable health they will raise babies.
It's very exciting for the new flyer

.
I'm not exactly new and I still enjoy breeding season.

Good to hear Murry that you still like the breeding season after all the years you have kept pigeons mate
Yes I'm really looking forward to this breeding season, yes I will probably make a few mistakes but I am here to learn and get use to the birds through every season throughout the year it looks like the birds are through the moult now and back to looking good again.

It's hard to make mistakes with breeding pigeons, Tony.
They are nature's survivors. They thrived for thousands of years before people started using them to carry messages and then race them.
Breeding GOOD pigeons is another story, that's getting into genetics and stuff, but if they have a safe home, plenty of feed and clean water, they will raise strong youngsters.
Ignore anyone who tries to tell you that breeding pigeons is difficult. It isn't. It's the easiest thing in the world.

Thanks Murray appreciate that advice.
When I got the 5 Stock birds a couple of months back I put them all in a section and put a few nest bowls in with them and 2 paired up laid 2 eggs which hatched out roughly 23rd September and these Y/Bs are doing fine their still in the stock section but getting about by themselves now. Should I leave them there or move them in with the late bred birds I got back in August mate

Probably time they were moved over with the other youngsters. Just keep an eye on them that a big youngster doesn't start beating them up. They'll soon find a perch and be fine.
In a short while they'll be venturing out with the big ones.
