Do you still have somr in the race loft Steve or are you putting more eggs in the same basket so to speak.?
Just wondering how many stock birds you keep...

Yes Dave, still some in the race team, in fact there’s 4 youngsters from him that will go forward to next years race team. 10 pairs at stock, but I always keep extra hens from the better ones.

 My wife might have something to say about that. :D

But no, a stud is probably a bit of an exaggeration, but since we moved out into the country and met some flyers out at Horsham I've certainly become a breeder rather than a racer.

Last year my birds went well but this year the results have been quite exciting and I think there's going to be better to come. I've been collecting birds for the last 5 or six years and things are really starting to click. Being retired gives me all the time in the world to care for them.

I'm very lucky.

Interesting Steve - do you race the spare hens from the better ones or are you keeping them "just in case"

Well done Murray - good luck for this season mate.
I don't really care much for trawling thro other ppls club results but free beer and the million dollar baby have endeared themselves to us all and when you go and clean up 10k -it's worth the "trawl" so more power to yer elbow mate and keep us posted.

I keep them for stock. I normal swap pairs around throughout the season. Having more hens than cocks means I can rest them between rounds.
