Sounds and looks like a Stud to me Danny.Rdhd Danny wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 1:21 pm @king a stud to me is where they just breed for profit and numbers, our owners don't run it as a business for profit it's about the racing for them the sales just offset the costs, they have separate businesses

So I'm guessing with 3 seperate partners each have their own lofts - if thats right Dan, are they in close proximity or do they all get together at your place on a race day?

@king kinda but you get my point it's not focused on profit, we sell a full round to China each year on a fixed contract and sell around 50 birds in auction each year this basically generates enough to keep buying and running what is there passion without having to fund it themselves

@bowbroom yes but not profit focused would be the difference, the owners don't earn any money from it they simply do it to fund there passion was my point

@bowbroom costs are high for staff and vehicles insurance ni but the owners don't take money out of the business personally it's self funding there hobby basically, they each are very successful in different businesses
The total cost to ship just 50 racing pigeons to China approx. £5,800 to £11,600, your full round is probably more, and I'm assuming you are working through an authorized international avian exporter? Some hobby.Rdhd Danny wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2026 1:48 pm @king kinda but you get my point it's not focused on profit, we sell a full round to China each year on a fixed contract and sell around 50 birds in auction each year this basically generates enough to keep buying and running what is there passion without having to fund it themselves
