hope your right Andy most have all ben out for an hour now they fly to the roof's then fly off, come back to the roofs for a nose they seem happy to be sitting up there.
I'm going to do this all week then next week take them down the road any advice on this i.e how far to take them, should I take them all ect

Tony, when you say they fly to the roof? Is that when you let them out? If so I'd not be happy. YBs should fly from the loft and fly up into the sky straight away. Not onto the roof.
They should not be just sitting there. When they do fly, how long are they actually flying for? If they aren't flying at least an hour without dropping, forget about taking them anywhere soon.

My own YBs when let out were up in the sky and gone before I came out of the loft, any late birds leaving the loft got left behind. Their flying was increased once flying, to anything from 1hr 30 to 3hrs. And this they had to do for a good few weeks. ONLY after they had reached this level of fitness were they put in a basket.
