Thanks Danny
I'm the same. I only wash the drinkers when they start looking a bit grubby, otherwise they are refilled daily in the winter and two or three times a day in the summer. It gets very hot here and the water can get too hot to drink.Andy wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 8:19 pm I swill mine out and replace with fresh water twice a day. Apart from the occasional garlic or apple cider vinegar nothing else is ever added.
I would think, really tuff going in the winter, Sharp winds coming off the north sea, along with the beast from the east.Rdhd Danny wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 3:42 pm Double edge sword we are on the coast and rural East Yorkshire great air quality but bird of prey heaven and strong winds as we are open 360 degrees to 4 miles of flat fields but it's the best location for our national birds and great for the Yorkshire middle route

I give them garlic and cider vinegar about 3 times a week, that's all they get. I don't use medications, don't even own any. But there's a vet in town, and I wouldn't hesitate if I had an outbreak of disease. I say I don't, I never say I won't.
Thanks Devo the boss will be on my case to keep the loft clean to her standardsDevo1956 wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 12:48 am To be honest i have never understood, putting clean water into dirty drinkers. Prevention always been with me, loft cleaned right through. Then i am happy, unil the next clean throuh the day.
No set routine Tony. Just when I feel they may need a bit of a boost. They are both natural products that help with many things. I don’t treat for anything and don’t feel the need to. Also with the occasional garlic I have no lice on any of the birds. I never get canker or respiratory problems.Tony-P- wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 5:21 amThanks Andy, how often do you change from fresh water to Garlic to Apple Cider Vinegar ? is this during each weekAndy wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 8:19 pm I swill mine out and replace with fresh water twice a day.
