For the sake of the site, I hope that the remaining members will be able to fill the void.
It's up to everyone to keep posting - even if you are talking shit, just post something.
Any of you guys on the fringe, put up some questions, there are still some leading 'authorities' on the site that will be able to help....
Neil and Mike?
I did ask Neil to leave posts but they insisted I delete them all in fact Mike threatened about the Privacy Laws (GDPR) which I felt unfair on me as I had done exactly as he requestedDiamond Dave wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 12:29 pm Ah bummer!
That's a real shame - they have been a real help to ppl like me.
At times (and many of them) I think it was only Neil that was keeping this site going and now Ant has gone as well.
That's 3 of the main protagonists that have left and with them all that knowledge that they shared so freely.

That's very unfortunate, and not really how GDPR works but I can understand why you felt you had to if the threat was being made.Buster121 wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 4:32 pmI did ask Neil to leave posts but they insisted I delete them all in fact Mike threatened about the Privacy Laws (GDPR) which I felt unfair on me as I had done exactly as he requestedDiamond Dave wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 12:29 pm Ah bummer!

I do always feel I tend to miss the trigger points of these events, unless they are happening off site!
Yes, you can ask for your posts to be deleted, but a forum is rarely legally required to comply. Once you publish a post, it generally becomes part of the community's collective conversation, and many platforms have policies stating they do not delete contributions simply because a user leaves.Buster121 wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 4:32 pmI did ask Neil to leave posts but they insisted I delete them all in fact Mike threatened about the Privacy Laws (GDPR) which I felt unfair on me as I had done exactly as he requestedDiamond Dave wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 12:29 pm Ah bummer!

Privacy and Personal Data (GDPR): If you live in the UK or EU, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. However, this typically applies to personally identifiable information. Posts that discuss general topics are often exempt because preserving them protects the "freedom of expression" and readability of community discussion threads
Regardless of what Mike said posts belong to the author and as such if they wish to have them deleted then they should be, also Mike as can any member can delete them themselves

The answer to that lies with Mike and Neil and only they could answer itBowbroom wrote: Mon Jun 08, 2026 10:37 am Why would anybody want all their posts deleted unless they were trying to erase their footprint from the site for some reason?
