Think she also said that her "tits don't lie" Mike![]()
The sire and dam were from birds by Brian Caley and the hen was the only bird in the Sportsman club from
Falaise 430 which is section N of the NFC. (Don't know if she was in the clock or not) but Jim was most definately not a bullshitter.
I think it was Shakira that said "Hips don't lie" not Shania and "tits"![]()

Mike,. there are "endurance" races everywhere - if there's competition it's a race, nordic Cross Country skiing, iron man, even the Grand national is considered an endurance race compared to the 6/7 furlong stuff
Hi Dave Falaise has only been flown twice in NFC YB races in 2003 & 2024 I'm guessing your bird is 2024 bird. If so there were no birds in race time in section N that year. Not surprising as the short fanciers made hard work of it flying less than 200 miles, even the Top fanciers struggled to get them.Diamond Dave wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 1:48 pmThink she also said that her "tits don't lie" MikeMIke Lycett wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 10:51 am Only you can decide whether you think she has it within her to be an asset in your racing loft
I know you said she flew over 400 miles as a youngster - but in the words of Shania Twain "That don't impress me much"

Let's be honest if there's flyers 100 Miles further with birds and yours come hours later or day later There only good for one thing n that's culling n feeding ferrets because sending birds across water ain't cheap so wasting time effort money fuel on rubbish seems crazy.

Appreciate that Mike - thanksMIke Lycett wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 4:53 pm Yes exactly
We know in pigeons there's always a "winner" and sometimes that pigeon may not always be what some consider to be the "best bird in the race"
All I'm trying to get fanciers to do is to aspire to be better.
If you don't try and be better it's unlikely that you'll ever progress

Can't disagree with that Anthony with the exception of the furthest races say Barcelona, Marseille, Perpignan and Dax but even then they have to be in race time and even then judged against the competition.
Cheers mate.

I don't understand it Neil u can take a collie put it in a marathon greyhound race it will be 20 seconds slower over a 1000 meters but it's never gone be a greyhound or ever win a race no matter how hard you try with it .NeilA wrote: Wed Apr 22, 2026 7:41 pm Fair point Anthony
It’s a bit like running the London marathon you got the top athletes competing others just glad to get around miles behind
I think that’s same with pigeons
I’m sure fanciers think they have achieved something by just getting birds to fly it a day behind

I just don’t get the getting them home a day later thinking you achieved something
