I used to worm once during the YB race programme and twice during the OB season

In fairness I never got the same "lift" the 2nd time as I did the first

Going into my big race of the season I'd always use Moxidecttin for 24 hrs on the Monday leading into the race




I promise you this

No matter how good your droppings are on the Monday i guarantee they'll be better on the Tuesday on the back of 24 hrs Moxidectin

Mike I am guessing you will probably say that you are not really interested in the distance but can I ask how long this "lift" the moxidectin gives the birds will last for as I was just wondering if it would benefit birds that are in the basket for maybe 3-5 days or do the effects only last for 24 hours as you mention?

How often do members worm there racers is it every so many weeks all year or at set points of the season
Or just on test results advice

I mainly do my own testing for worms cocci and canker, then once a year get them tested professionally, only treat if detected, which for worms isn’t often, however so many fanciers say treating can give them a lift so I might try it a couple of times in the season next year.

Yes Steve nothing like a well timed antibiotic for giving pigeons a lift it's a fact .
In uk and Europe its all hush hush but in south Africa there open about it .
There's a utube channel called talking pigeons watch George Reid interview podcast ,and stear painter podcast you see the level they fly at and there 20 yrs infront of us with medical treatments for pigeons.

Just bought the blue quest eqonox horse wormer done all birds everything seems good droppings super as well ,,it's moxidectin with a tate worm treatment added to the wormer.

Is that different to the normal quest or same and I never read the label fully ?

Yes different Neil it kills more different types of worms pal is what they said in horse shop to me , my flock of pigeons are 13 hands tall called lady

If I look at a pigeon any pigeon and there feathers ain't laid tight and spotless absolutely faultless around there neck and crop I worm straight away ,,I do same if I see a dogs coat just dull up hit them with wormer a horse the same normally 3 days after worming there feathers or coat are tight n gleaming again.

Did he give a reason Mike I understand not paring straight after parathyroid cure but a wormer ,if I see something I didn't like n there was baby's in nest I would worm straight away but with tablets not in water.

You give widowhood cocks wormer 5,6 days before big race if testosterone levels were affected would the cocks race so well ,,
There's a reason behind everything and I know that wormers don't affect breeding because I worm them every round n normally get grate hatches only cold weather or bad uncondition birds don't fill eggs my opinion.

Can I ask would you for some feedback please, would you give yb Moxidectin wormer directly down the throat, & would you give 1 dose after weaning( parent's had been done before breeding) if so what would be the dosage please.
