That's a good wormer pal I treat n 7 days later again, even with pups I weigh pups at 2 weeks worm them n there mum next morning but worm pups 7 days later with same dose then weigh pups again at 4 weeks but my pups at 5 weeks old are as big as 9 10 week old pups .

I have to be honest Pete, in the racing season my answer would be different. If i felt the birds were right and a big race was looming on the Saturday then i’d Moxidectin on the Monday for 24 hrs

So here’s a question for you guys. Just had a whole loft test done (I.e throat swabs, droppings samples, floor and perch swabs) and we’ve got zero worms or eggs. Do I treat for something they haven’t got as a precaution, or do I just test regularly and treat as / when / if they appear?

With dogs I treat regularly because they’re born with them and pick them up from everywhere, but does that apply to pigeons?

The floor n perch swabs waste of time pal ,,
If u swapped a school gate n had swab tested the whole school would be off school,,
It's fxxking unbelievable how some these firms are coning people with pure bullshxt.

But the droppings test isn’t bull, right?

Not posted a photo before so let’s see if it works. I had the tests done because I believed the birds had some sort of respiratory issue - not ill-looking but some of them just sounded a bit ‘gutteral’ if that makes sense. The report confirmed that and you’ll see what else it said.

They don’t issue broad spectrum antibiotic but did send something referenced Enr/CHL/Amox - which they said is specifically for the bronchial issue. Means nothing to me I’m afraid but this firm came recommended so I thought I’d give them a try after speaking with Donal Barry at Doncaster.

Sorry, yes, the throat and mouth swab was for the respiratory issue I mentioned. That was the main reason I had the test and it wasn’t much more £ to get the whole lot checked at once so I figured I’d give it a try.

I don't understand some of the comments
Enrofloxin don't treat streptococcus its best for ecoli
You use amoxicillan clavnic acid for streptococcus this is just common sence but was these detected from pigeons of from perch n floor because swabbing a door handle in house will show positive for everything.

Do they suggest another test after treatment or happy that the meds will solve it

I’ve been advised that this place isn’t perhaps as good as I thought …….
