I think I've said before I had a young hen back in 1989, I don't remember her whole ring number but the last two digits were 39. She was a Cattrysse cross Busscheart from our Dads old lines. As a youngster she had two or three races but was a week or more late from all of them, as a yearling she had a few more races up to around 250miles and was down the order from the all but at least arrived on the day. As a two year old she was timed in the from Berwick 350miles to me. Then as a three year old she really repaid my patience and was 4th club from Berwick 350miles, 2nd club from Stonehaven 431miles (only 2 birds home in the club on the day) and then took top spot from Banff 495miles, all three of these races were within a five week period so when you take into count the days of basketing she didn't have long in the loft between races. I sadly lost her and one of my Thurso winners the following year in a smash from Elgin (no birds in the fed in race time) and I've never had a bird quite like her since.
