I don't know Neil i used cold pressed linseed oil for birds for years bought from horse shop when I use to show horse I would pressure cook the linseed and take all the jelly from the seeds and mix in my feed I would all so pressure cook barley for horses as well n put a small cup of soya meal in mix as well this was massive protein content for putting a strong back n weight on a show cob.

See I don't like vitamins for pigeons after Tuesday with the road race horses if you give them a shot of vitamin less than 10 days before race the horse would gas out and not do the 2 mile trip so u would use it 14 days before
Electrolyte no harm you could mix 3,4 together and horse stay strong for 2 miles same as a antibiotic the white blood cell count would look way to high but the horse would race fine for 2 miles but vitamins ruined them ,,

The last 10 years road race horses is different level there drugged out there head you have to be a vet to compete the horses are on sayline drips with epo n pain killers put in them until they come of horse box the times they hit now no animal fed normally looked after A1 can hit them times that's why everyone I know don't race no more.

Yes mate the barley water is another that’s excellent grandad use to do that at the coal wharf
I only use the flax oil currently but would like to use others but if a small bottle of say pigeon garlic oil is £12 how much actual garlic has it got in it how many bulbs would you have to crush to fill it could never produce it for the money same oregano but least ad herb first ingredient is sunflower oil on there ingredients list
I thought maybe as healthy oil isn’t cheap they may infuse cold pressed of some sort but they don’t claim to so maybe not
I still use boiled pearl barley water now on my dogs if the pixx dark after running hard 1 day Pearl barley water n they are pixxing clear again.
If ya dog is pixxing dark it will be 2 inches short on its stride don't sound much but over a mile it's massive amount of distance it as lost just through 1 minor thing.

Grandad did it when he worked the horses pulling the carts but still did it on his two shires he kept when he retired them and got a lorry
Funny the things they did my dad would give he's horse a tin of macklesons stout think that's what it was similar to guiness it looked 1 tin once aweek he give he's horse all ways said it kept collick away from them.

Just asked AI about infusing garlic into an oil said should be used within a week otherwise there is a chance of botulism......?
I think I would happily mix a few cold pressed oils together but maybe keep the garlic in the water.
No one has said anything about wheat germ oil - I thought that was suposed to have good properties for the birds.
Ant - I am in awe of your knowledge about country and animal matters. If there is a war in the next few years in this country- can I be on your side lol.
