Just listened n learned that for late breds it must be warmer it's the temperature of the race pal ok

Yes Neil needed patience but had to never had a south Rd team so had to wait it out but at the moment it's paying off ,if I get another 6 races for em that's 8 races plus the national in September it will set them up for future pal .

and what is the min. temperature you have trained them in?

and what is the min. temperature you have trained them in?

I paired up after the 9th old bird race pal think these were born 3rd week of July pal ,I've trained in all weather's fog where u can't see 50 yards n other days when it's raining n awful weather there first 6 tosses was single ups in thick fog ,,I've lost aa good few but left now hopefully with the really tough good ones ,I've lost about 3 percent of home bred pigeons that are tried n tested but lost over 80 percent of the birds I bought in treating them like my own there's 5 left but these 5 look OK there getting better each week.

I think you make a very interesting point there Ant and not surprising to me. Home bred birds you have developed over a number of years have got used to your system and the birds that work on your system are the ones that have made your own family that you have now. The bought in birds aren’t necessarily any worse than your own family the ones you’ve lost just didn’t fit your system. It takes a few years to get new birds to suit the way you do things. The 5 you have left have proved to you that they are willing to respond to your system. These birds should now blend into your own family well as they have earned their place in your team.

First 6 tosses all ways singles pal if they can't get home I don't want em once I've weeded the idiots out I can work with the others and get them racing ,,

Des Coulter always remembered George Burgess telling him, that to build a good racing team (specifically a distance one) you have to try and lose them !!
If a system works then why change it !!
I agree that you can buy the best of the best, from the best, but if they don't like or fit your system then you may as well stick them I the bin. Over the years I have tried introducing countless numbers of sprint pigeons into my team but they either get lost or end up being decent distance pogeons lol
My system just doesn't suit sprint racing, I'm not dedicated enough these days I'm afraid.

There not on a system until week before racing there just looked after and loft flown and trained ,I don't pair up ,breed put them on widowhood I do none of them things ,everything a expert says I do dead opposite lol ,pigeon racing to me is fairly simple.
Fit ,healthy,right weight ,love home ,n most importantly they must be super pigeons ,,
Motivation seeing hens seeing nest bowls in my opinion can not make a average pigeon win ,,
With greyhounds n horses if they don't hit the right time the trainer knows there not open class but pigeon lads love there pigeons so much they keep them and try and beat Derby n open class animals with donkeys ,,I'm just speaking the truth the brits copy the Belgium n Dutch if they put cow shxt in there drinker the brits would do the same there frightened to change but I think all these systems are just extra unneeded work .
