Good to see all is going well Andy and that the birds have all gone ok. It shows that it does them no harm to keep them shut up for winter and that leaving them just that few weeks longer before pairing pays off. The birds are obviously fit enough and the hens not as fat as you thought they were !!!

Just 2 hens left to lay. One is Polly who although has paired up ok she still seems more interested in me than her cock when I’m in or around the loft. The other one is a 2 year old. She did fly Elgin 400 miles as a yearling and flew Hexham 269 miles last year. At the end of last season when rearing a couple of latebreds she suddenly went off her legs and was found on the floor of the loft nearly dead. I put her in a nest box and it was about a month before she recovered enough to be able to get about properly again. She does seem ok but obviously still has some sort of effect from it.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
