@devo I'm not familiar with that olr but I hope they return for you mate ive bred a few birds that are in the UK premier this year and 3 that are in the algarve I like to follow how they get on for there owners through the season

Danny, this race is in Melbourne Austrailia. Murray bred 2 youngsters for our syndicate of 7 youngsters. It will be good to follow your birds in the OLR.

It was the first race in the Meadows OLR 816/1141 Youngsters back at this time. In the syndicate we have 4 / 7 back in the loft. The race was over 250 Km which is 155 miles, I just hope our other 3 youngsters return.

The Meadow loft birds were scooting along, the first ones were going about 1977 MPM / 2160 yards per minute. There were plenty of arrivals early then it tapered off. It would appear they've run into trouble, probably of a raptor kind.
It's just on dawn here now, and foggy, so it will be a minute before they start drifting in.
Our grizzle cock, TNFS, is home, but the other one, VeeBee was still out last night. Just have to hope she gets home okay.

Our other one, VeeBee is home, which is great.
She's late, so she's obviously flown a fair way on her own. She's showing a bit of her mother's get home instinct.
They have been well broken up by the looks of it. They have been drifting in all morning and there's still over 200 to come. I think the falcons hit them early in the race and scattered them.
Steve has them very fit and healthy so they are coming through, but it's been a tough one.

That was a bit of a surprise, they were going 120 km/h or 75 MPH yesterday. With a bit of a tail breeze the sprinty bred things were far too fast for ours.
But the second race, Saturday week, is scheduled for 250 to 300 miles and the forecast is for a light head wind.
This could play into our hands a little bit.
The important thing is, our two are still there and, unfortunately, quite a few aren't. There's a hundred different reasons, pick one to suit.
Taking what I've learnt over the past two years, I've got a plan to breed some that are better suited again next year. It's a bit like winning the lottery. Its hard.
It's harder if you haven't got a ticket.
