How's members breeding going so far in 2026, hope you've all had a trouble free run with your stock pigeons.
Of the small amount of stock I have they've all gone down & laid, just had trouble with one dominant cock & his hen so they have been put in the other section, because this cock was a problem, 3 pairs I'd brought in couldn't hold a boxes due to the cock going in & out so they have settled to a box hopefully they will lay up in the next week now he's been removed.

Hi Dave, glad yours is going ok. I have had a few problems with that red cock that you gifted me.
Not really his fault but another cock wanted his hen and his box back. I have had to do the same as you - move the old cock and his new hen into the yb section to maintain the harmony - think they would of killed each other if I didn't intervene. They both took a battering.
When you say "dominant" do you mean with his hen or to other cocks?
The Rieks hen has paired nicely to my best stock cock and is sitting eggs which I shall float under a pair of yearlings after about 6 days (not sure if that is long enough - perhaps someone will put me right)
Other than that, I am really pleased with the way they have all paired and laid out within 3 or 4 days of each other apart from one or two later bred ones that I am not bothered about being paired anyway.

Hello Dave, the cock in question was in the top box with the same hen as in 25, he's was ok but wanted to dominate the floor as well as the boxes lower down which the 3 pairs I've brought in just couldn't settle to those boxes.
So he's been moved out along with his hen so a bit calmer, but having said that the dominant cocks son I've paired him up & he has started to do this in the next box down that are on good eggs, so they will be split next week, I've had to put a wire front to stop him going in the lower box, just got to work around them for a couple of day's just need the ybs to feather up a bit more & move them over.

Iv paired up stock but first 2 rounds going friends I have some 3rd round baby's late April may I guess but I'm not involved with pigeon racing how I was ,,if I want a break or go away I will ,,the cost of pigeons is costly and not in money I look at my kids most grown up now there whole life each weekend pushed away because pigeons family holidays I never went on because they was in the season,,NeilA wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 10:32 pm Not paired stock yet
Will just have some April hatched ybs there normally what I find easier to manage anyway
I may just train them and give them one race
Lost a lot of interest in competitive sprinting and that what I enjoyed
Never thought I would lose the get up and go but unfortunately way the feds gone I cant be bothered to put the effort in to race 600 pigeon in weighted fed and sprinting in another fed with big radius isn’t sprinting for me so south rd doesn’t interest me
Might even take a bit of time out after old birds
Not far off having a complete break
This coming winter 50 to 60 percent of stock are being sold and any bird that ain't been on first drop 3 times or more will be removed ,,
Got to lighten the work load and make pigeons easier for my self ,,when ya passionate about racing daily chores are nothing when ya not fully in love with a sport the chores become work.

The question you might want to ask yerself is "what would you do with yerself if you didnt race the birds" ?
I am sure that someone like you has done most things in pigeons but there must be something that you could
find a new challenge in.
There is still good competition in middle n long distance flying and whats wrong with S R flying ? - any competition is better than none at all n the way you go about your racing you would be successful at everything you do.

I wish I hadn't started this topic Neil, m8 you can't change things that are probably out of your control in the first place with Fed radius etc, but what you are in control of are your pigeons, you've probably won more sprinting since I've joined up on Chat then UK forum than probably most people you should be proud of your record, don't put yourself down, take from the positive in your racing Neil.

Seems like it’s been shit winter damp every day ,grey heavy skies
Rather have the crisp blue cold mornings than this

would you go into this a bit more Anthony please is this something you've done for a few year's, so does it cleanse the pigeons out?. I've looked on alt your previous post Anthony thinks I've understood with the Epsom salts.Anthony webster wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 3:58 pmSun's out hens are out for 4th time there still flying as I type this 30 mins so far enjoying the sun like me I guess ,,one good thing is weight is brilliant on all birds, the 2 days zero food only grit n salts mix in drinker was massive thing before exercise started.NeilA wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 2:51 pmAnthony webster wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 12:59 pm I'm hoping I fill different as weather changes ,fundermentals all done so its just motivation needed from me.
