Droppings and breeding off yearlings

I need to tap into the collective wisdom if I may. Droppings have all of a sudden gotten wet. Not been out since September so not mixed with anything, not paired yet. Only thing that’s changed is I took a delivery of depurative a couple of days ago and so I took them off moulting mix to the depurative until I pair. Would that do it?

Whether it’s connected across 2 lofts and 8 sections I don’t know, but I’ve stuck one of the hens in quarantine this evening as she was sat hunched up. Body weight fine, nothing in the throat, but when I set her on my hand to flutter down she just dropped without flapping her wings. Something told me she wouldn’t be around in the morning. The rest of the birds look superb.

Second point, I wasn’t intending to breed off my yearlings (my only race birds), but a chap at the club this weekend said that yearling hens usually produce their best round. Not heard that before so I thought I’d ask you guys.

Obviously there’s something up with the hen, if she were mine I’d just remove her, in all the years I’ve had pigeons I can’t ever remember having a tidy one that I had to patch up. As for the rest how wet are the droppings? The weather here in the last few days has gone from dry and cold to wet and mild and often when the humidity changes suddenly the droppings can go a little soft.

Id have no hesitation breeding off the yearlings.

I bought a bag of ss seed depurtive droppings went wet on odd birds I went and got 2 bags barley mixed the barley to the depure and droppings come bk good again on the birds .

The deprutive is a load of mutt mate load of wheat in it n not good wheat either

If the hens dropping to the floor pretty much I would use antibiotics if I wanted her
When you say when something happens i understand that but your team have wet dropping could you post a photo of them
Have you tested for cocci ?
How wet are they can you see solids and wet separated or compact but mushy

She’s picked up a bit in quarantine and her droppings look better. If she survives the great, she’ll be in the basket in April. My gut feel is that I don’t want to be propping her up with antibiotics if she can’t get over things naturally.

The loft had a total clean bill of health when testing a month or so back and they’ve not been out since, so not sure what’s brought it on other than a change in weather and food. Some of the birds droppings are perfect, others a bit loose, the odd cock like water. Health looks perfect save the one in sick bay.

I’m inclined to let them get through it (or not) but I was going to pair on Sunday so not sure whether to wait until the droppings come right again?
