Hey ho I've decided to do a brief report tonight.
The Fed had 421 birds at Rugby, they were Liberated at 9.35am into a light North West wind. I thought it could be quick, but as the wind appeared to be very variable on route, with even a bit of South in it at my end, it was going go be a little unpredictable. I was optimistically thinking that we could get something doing around the 60mph mark, so could get one between 11.15 and 11.30, but more realistically was thinking I'd like one around 11.35 to 11.45. I'm always out there in plenty of time with my cup of tea, and was sat looking up towards the downs, which is to the North of me, when all of a sudden from the North East came a little blue, wings up and coming into to land. Unfortunately he had a double take, circled once and landed on the house, he was only there a few seconds before he glided down onto the trap and in. It was the same Cock bird who was 4th Club for me last week and was on the clock at 11.27.22, shortly after his Mum turned up and was clocked at 11.30 followed by another at 11.34. I had a bit of a flurry of birds over the next 20 minutes before things went quiet, the remaining birds turned up during the afternoon with the last 2 turning up just after 6pm. I was quietly optimistic that I wouldn't be far away again, especially as the bird had come in from exactly the spot I'd have wanted him to, but with Mr Still being on fire at the moment and Brian Ritchie now far behind I wasn't going to hold my breath.
However to my surprise and of course delight, I did knock Alan off his perch for the first time this season, preventing him from taking 8 in a row.
On seeing the other club results come in while we were having a drink, it looked for a short while as if I was in the running to take the top spot in the Federation too, with me being infront of Brighton Central, Shoreham and Newhaven. Sadly that wasn't to be as when the Eastbourne result came in they had 6 birds infront of mine, which with the wind as it was isn't too surprising, so very well done to them.
Any way this is my clocking in sheet, our club result and the provisional Federation top 10.

The Sussex North road Federation basketed last night for our 2nd combine race with the Solent and Southampton North road Feds.
There are around 300 birds in the our Fed, Littlehampton have sent 132, I've sent 25.
We are hoping for a liberation tomorrow, more likely to be Sunday though.
