:D
Yep, and our two, Free Beer and Devos Zillion, were among the first half of the arrivals, all within the first 5 minutes.
I am pleased.
I see some were taking over an hour, and there are one or two missing.
It's only a start, but ours appear to do things right. :D
It is a good start, it will be good to see how future training will be going, Then on to the main thing racing, then we will know their true ability.
Well done Murray on the breeding of these youngsters.

We went down to the appliance store in the town and bought a brand new one. I suspect that it will be no better than the old one.
It came with what seems a very comprehensive instruction manual. Making toast is not a complex concept. It does have some interesting instructions. For instance:
Remove appliance from packaging.
Never immerse appliance in water.
Do not allow children to play with toaster!

I know people are having the common sense educated out of them, but, really?

Et voila, this morning he's in a corner box with the little dark hen. I popped a nest bowl in and hopefully they'll stick. Not always the case with young birds the first time.
I'll try to get her to lay and put dummy eggs under her, then remove them so she's laid again just before the first race.
That's the plan, there's a lot can go wrong yet
I've been flying and tossing Ronnie the dark grizzle youngster. We had a bad toss yesterday, first one on the board, in mile a minute time, Ronnie. :D
The little dark hen has caught on that she doesn't get trained and I only let her out when she wants to.
She's been shredding her nest felt for a couple of days and this morning there's an egg, Very tiny, but perfectly formed. :D Ronnie the grizzle was busting to show me. He was all over my back, yodeling away,
I've noticed another pair of older youngsters snuggled up on the floor behind the door. Our first race is 5 weeks away. We might have several motivated young birds by then.
Sorry I've not kept up with your posts Muzza, I do enjoy reading them when I get the chance.
It's good to see that your race preparations are going well, it's getting exciting for you now.
All the best mate.

It's been very cold and wet today.
I went out just after 7.30 am, it was still quite gloomy and spitting rain. So I waited to see what happened. By the time I'd scraped out and done the drinkers it was raining pretty good, so I left them in. With my lungs standing around in the cold and wet is no good. It has rained for most of the day and I think we will get more this evening.
When I went out to feed them at 3.30 it was still cold and raining, but the pigeons were fine and the loft was dry and not cold. I built it with a fairly big open vent in the floor at the back wall to allow plenty of airflow in the heat of the summer. By completely closing the front in the winter it cuts off the rapid flow through the shed and it really is quite cosy, despite being able to see the ground under the loft through the fly screen over the vent.

I was talking to a bloke today who was spitting tacks. It's The King's Birthday long weekend and both his kids are away playing sport. He was aiming to get his youngsters up the road, maybe all three days. It's only 2 weeks until the first race and now there's a panic to get them ready.
Well, that hasn't worked. It's going to be wet again tomorrow, probably a bit better on Monday.
This is why I started tossing weeks and weeks ago. Mine have had lots of little trainers, quietly got out to Marnoo, the first village on the west road, 20 miles, and are now set up. I'm still 4 weeks away from my first race, ( the first two races are from St Arnaud, so it would be 3 miles to me  ) so I had already planned to not train them for a week. A couple of days off and a few days hard loft flying, then just a few longer tosses to be ready to go 63 miles in a month.

That's the plan, let's see how badly this unravels. :D :( :o
Greetings from the land down under. :D
