OMG, while I know where your coming from, I still think its a bit drastic.
As a comparitive newcomer It did seem as though Mike was constantly promoting his own self interests but I think with an open forum you have to expect all sorts
and being out-spoken tends to be inherent in many pigeon fanciers.
I hope that If ever I said things out of turn or became irritating that you would give me fair warning before making the cull.
Having said that, as a newbie, I hope you dont mind me contributing by saying that I understand, respect and appreciate your post justifying your reason for the action.
(Still a shame though to lose someone at the very pinnacle of our game)

Yea but Dave, Mike was reliving the successes of many years ago. He wasn't at the pinnacle. Some of the things he was saying were true 20 years ago, but like anything, pigeon racing has changed, moved on.
Greetings from the land down under. :D
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for verily, he shall not be disappointed.

I didn’t take the decision lightly Dave, but the forum had always been a very friendly site and was becoming quite hostile with members who had been the backbone of the forum for years going to leave. Over the 10 years that I have been part of the forum we’ve had a lot of members but we’ve probably only had to warn a couple of people about their conduct and have never had to give a timeout or ban anyone before.
We welcome any new members and you’re very welcome Dave. Just treat everyone with respect regardless of whether they are top fanciers, starters or just those who like being involved with pigeons. Of course we don’t mind you contributing. I will soon let you know if you step out of line :D :D
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

I don’t disagree that Mike had something to offer but it was the way that he, and by using Neil, knocked everyone else who didn’t agree or had other ways and ideas to them. They were quite offensive with their comments.
I like I expect you worm have or do know many top fanciers over the years. I am 62 and have been involved with pigeons all my life. I had some great mentors when I was a boy. Many I could listen to for hours. I am in a very strong club now with some very good fanciers who have won loads at the top level. All are very friendly. We all have different ideas and ways but respect each other, which is something that Mike and Neil didn’t do.

That's the difference, "Respect" and unfortunately those two showed very little of it for anyone who didn't see things their way. As Andy says, it wasn't what they said but how they said it, they were often quite derogatory and rude to those of us who just enjoy flying our birds without the desire to be at the top every week.
Also in a sport that is under constant scrutiny, openly endorsing the removal of any bird that doesn't measure up does our sport no favours whatsoever.

when Mike first joined i thought here is a chap that knows what he is talking about and did ask him for advice but things changed very quickly and we fell out the site was no longer the friendly site and the pair started to upset members so they have gone free to join other sites it's not as if they have no were to go i do wish them good luck
