Watch look and learn.
When you are observing in your loft, your eyes are picking up data. Which you then record in your loft diary, many great flyers keep their records and some go on for years. This is where you find all your information for breeding, and information needed for the future. I agree with Murray after he rode a horse no matter what class of horse. He gave feedback after the race on how he felt the horse performed in that race or training gallop. This was information need for data for future racing.
I just look at prizes won how many times they finish in the top 2-3 per cent of the result in July when the seasons over and decide from that what is worth keeping
Nice to look at them and see there different habits but facts are more important, they go every week sprinting so it doesn’t really matter what they do in the loft .
Be different if I was open loft flying natural looking at nest conditions for a few longer races but pretty pointless when there going anyway each Saturday
I spend 20 min sat with them at night to build confidence but what one lays in his box and what one sits in my knee mean nothing result wise

You're not wrong Neil
Results and the analysis of results are all that's required to keep a top loft progressing on an upwards spiral
I've seen and heard every excuse under the sun as to why some lofts don't win (on here as well)
Bottom line is somewhere along the line monumental f^ck ups are being made and there's a resistance to admit/own it

You must be reading a different forum than the rest of us Mike as I haven’t seen one post on here where anyone has made an excuse for not winning.MIL wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:20 am You're not wrong Neil

That's the best laugh I've had this year!!!

This topic started of for other members to get involved on their thoughts, not for it to be a point scoring match. New members and young people, looking in want to be able to get good advice to help them in the sport.
So can we just keep it like that.
