Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

As we are now going to be racing from over the channel and all the required paperwork has to be in place I decided to pair the birds up yesterday so that they are hopefully on eggs before they are vaccinated at the end of February.
I paired the 6 stock pairs + 2 feeder pairs up in the stock loft. These were selected pairings and have been shut in their boxes with their chosen mates. They have all gone down well. I have had 7 of the 8 pairs out at some point today and all went back into their boxes on their own.
I have 19 pairs of racers. I just put all the hens in the old bird section and have left them to sort their own mates out. This evening I have 8 pairs happily paired up. I have shut the pairs that have paired in their boxes only because some were trying to take over more than one box. This is leaving the other birds to sort out their own boxes and mates. I expect that by tomorrow evening most will be paired up.

Looking good Andy, well done. I hope they all settle and go down soon, I think racing is going to be late starting again this year. I probably won't pair up for another couple of weeks yet.
