Good to see it back up soon be up and running againMurray wrote: Wed May 01, 2024 9:45 am I got a missed call at lunchtime from young Mick the builder, asking something about how the loft went together. I called him back and he said never mind, he'd sorted it out. I told him we were just getting in the car, I would see him in 20.
When we got there, the loft was stood up and young Mick and his father, Mick Sr, were hoisting the roof on.![]()
I should mention that Mick Sr is the senior Police officer in St Arnaud. He's on long service leave and is doing renovations on his house too. He's a kiwi from my home town, his wife is a kiwi from Christchuch, where Catherine is from.![]()
He helped young Mick to get the ceiling panels on then went back to his renovations with appointments made to 'do coffee'. Nice bloke.
So I helped Mick to put the iron on the roof.
When I asked him what I owed him, he just shook his head. "Na, it's all right", he said, and grinned. I asked him if he has a beer, as a box of beers is always an acceptable return for a favour here. "Yep", he said.
How great is that?
So....

It is a good place to post where everyone can see something and just post reminders etcMurray wrote: Fri May 03, 2024 8:31 am I don't know about the chat thing, but it annoys the hell out of me.
We have the forum where we can post, and PM if we want to say something off forum
What useful purpose does it serve?
I never look at it.

Good to see you improvingMurray wrote: Fri May 03, 2024 11:21 pm A couple of days ago I started feeling a bit off colour. Shaking and shivering, aching all over, even went off my beer, so I must have been really sick..![]()

Wednesday and Thursday I shivered all night under a heap of blankets. Last night I had a hot shower and put myself to bed. I felt like I was freezing, and aching....
Then, I wasn't![]()
One minute I was feeling like death, next minute I was warm and felt fine. Put my head on the pillow, slept all night and am good as gold this morning.
Well, I would be if I could breathe properly, but that's a different story.
Extraordinary.![]()
