A good few years ago, i went to visit Louis Jannsen, i went over to his lofts with Mr Hartog, John Gerrard i must say, John knew his birds, one loft we went too in Holland, the guy asked John to go in his loft and bring his champion bird out. Well 1 minute later the guy was nearly on the floor. John just put it in his hand. There you go there is your champion bird. Well then it was onto Louis Jannsen, we met August Delamann and we follwed him to the Jannsen lofts. In the video the chair next to Louis I sat in next to Louis and he handed me a cold bottle of coke. I was in another world, but what a gentleman, he always had a smile that told stories.

A day to remember.
Andy i was so lucky to go on a visit like this, and thank you to john for making it happen. Some great lofts we went to, but Jannsens was the best.
Amazing memories Devo, what an experience that must have been. In my opinion there is absolutely no doubt that these amazing Jansen pigeons can be found in the pedigree of most if not all modern day families, they are so distinctive and can be spotted a mile off.
It was a great visit Trev, to be honest i sat there for a while with my mouth open,. Maybe that is why Louis gave me a bottle of coke, if i remember there was a 3 year waiting list for a youngster..Trev wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 11:35 pm Amazing memories Devo, what an experience that must have been.
