Preparation is the key.
Those were interesting videos. All mainly common sense, but common sense isn't that common any more

Well done Devo, these videos are always useful for new comers looking to start up with pigeons.
I have to say that my preparation over the last couple of years has been dreadful, personal circumstances have played a part in that, but again, so has having far too many birds. Although I still love having the birds and will continue to race them for a long as I can, I need to sort the environment out as some of the pleasure has definitely gone at the moment. I need to get back to basics and make things simpler and more enjoyable again, the trouble is, as someone who will not move on perfectly healthy birds it's not that easy. I almost need to bite the bullet, take a step back, and one year not breed any youngsters.

Or do what I did, Trev. Gave away 6 pairs of pigeons to a new starter. He was very pleased and I was happy to see them be of some use.
I've got 11 next boxes but only 7 pairs, and when I fit out the new loft it will only have 9 boxes.
I'm like you, soft. The only way I can have less pigeons is have fewer stock birds.
