Things have been looking a little more promising that there could be channel racing again next year.

The CSCFC & the BBC have both come up with South Road race programs, but have also come up with a North Road program as a contingency plan in case Channel racing isn’t possible.

Although this still leaves us unknown as yet as to what way will go at least they have come up with a plan to cover both options. Last year they both started off with races from the West Country hoping that they could go South and then had to turn North. Hopefully this won’t happen next year.

The BICC had a meeting yesterday but I haven’t heard anything yet.

The NFC have come up with a plan to race South Road with a program of South Road races from France, but as an alternative if flying from France isn’t an option they will have 6 races from Guernsey. No good for us as that’s only 109 miles to me.

Once I know about what the BICC are proposing I will put up the 2 possible race programs for our National racing next season.

The BICC have announced their program for next year. They have 5 South Road channel races for old birds and 2 for young birds. They will also have the International races on dates to be confirmed. They are fairly sure that we will be flying the channel next year and haven’t put an alternative program up.

Provided we do get to race the channel there will be the opportunity to fly 16 National old bird races plus 6 internationals starting on 30th April.

There will be 5 young bird races which will also be any age races.

I know all my distances and will put up the proposed race program. The shortest races are from Coutances 145 miles up-to Pau 544 miles for the Nationals. The 6 internationals are all over 500 miles with 3 over 600 miles.
