Here are the pigeons that we have in the racing loft for 2021.

COCKS

7A7A7D8D 59D9 4CA2 B506 D50F57CE58CA

GB16V17405. This is Squeaky, useless but a favourite. He has been trained or raced. I have bred a few from him but none have done anything. I will just pair him to keep a racing hen happy.

CE6C3D18 DC80 453A B63F DEE405B6B1F2

GB18Z06200 bred by Pete. He was sent to Coutances 145 miles with the CSCFC 25/08/18. He returned 14/05/19. I think he had been out all winter by the state of his feathers. He was left to moult out and wasn’t raced in 2019. In 2020 he was sent to Falaise 178 miles 13/06/20 where he was our 6th bird taking 251st section 533rd Open. He was then sent to St Philbert-Du-Peuple 274 miles BICC 27/06/20. He arrived 25 days late. He has a bit to prove, and may if things go well, be tried at Barcelona this year.

16874C99 6FA9 49BB 863D C1072F3FF700

GB19B05846 bred by John & Ben. He went to Guernsey 109 miles CSCFC 24/08/19. He was found in the loft early next morning. He was sent to Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20, he was our 8th pigeon. He then went to St Philbert-Du-Peuple BICC 27/06/20. He was timed at 11.34am next morning. He is being aimed at Pau this year.

EE750048 DDE9 441B BD84 BC390120555D

GB19B05849 bred by John & Ben. He was trained but unraced as a youngster. His first race this year was Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/04/20, he was 2 days late. His second only ever race was Poitiers 343 miles BICC 11/07/20. He was our second bird on the day flying 12 hours 56 minutes and taking 87th section 731st Open. Aiming at Pau this year.

22B810C1 C33E 44C7 8F59 D604D10868F8

GB19B05855 bred by Devo & CDBL. Like the above pigeon he wasn’t raced but trained as a youngster. His first race was Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. He was 2 days late from this race. Again as above pigeon his second ever race was Poitiers 343 miles BICC 11/07/20. He was our first bird and took 26th section 158th open. As a result of this he was the winner of this year Barcelona challenge trophy. Looking at sending him to Pau this year.

226E0939 56AA 4B7A A42F F9B644607D4A

GB19B05863 bred by myself from a cock from John & Ben x GB17F14535 a hen of my own. He was sent to Guernsey 109 miles CSCFC 24/08/19. He was found in the loft early next morning. His next race was Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/04/20. He was our 4th bird and took 240th section 448th Open. Then Poitiers 343 miles BICC 11/07/20. He was timed at 7.43am next morning. Another one for Pau this year.

BD618AC8 89E5 42AC AF7D 6AD5CE3DB9FE

GB19B05864 nestmate to pigeon above. This one was trained but unraced as a youngster. His only race so far was Falaise 178 miles BICC. He arrived at 11.56am next day. He wasn’t raced anymore as he was paired to a hen I wanted for Pau. He was also the one that had the sunflower seed stuck in the inside of his beak. I will be looking to send him to Pau this year.

F946C190 3897 4E02 86F3 823201271543

GB19B05881 bred by Phil. Sent to Guernsey 109 miles CSCFC 24/08/19. He was 2 days late from this one. Last year Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. He was our 12th bird flying 10 hours 44 minutes. He was then our first bird St Philbert-Du-Peuple 274 miles flying 9 hours 43 minutes taking 158th section 1576th open. Yet another one aimed at Pau this year.

C7B39A72 D9E4 4024 87B2 9EFC1B3747BD

IHU19S046751 bred by Magic. He was trained but unraced as a youngster. During the winter he broke his 7th flight and I wasn’t sure whether to race him last year. I did send him to Falaise BICC 13/06/20. He was 12 days late.  He wasn’t raced anymore but has moulted out well and looking good so will also be looking to send him to Pau.

These are the old cocks. As I have lost my post once already I’m going to post this and will continue with the yearling cocks and the hens on another post lol.

Now for the Old Hens

1FED7B7D 0414 4EF6 BD9B 07580DBFDCF6

WHU14D06359 bred by Rich. Rich gave me this hen when I went to visit him. I have bred a few from her but unfortunately haven’t had anything much from her. I have got a nice pair of latebreds from her though.

E006BFEC 63B4 42F5 9BC4 9FE89D5BD844

IHU15N20165. This is the Irish stray that came into me in 2017. I had contacted the owner and she kept on disappearing from mine but never went back to him. Each time she would be missing for 2 or 3 weeks before turning up at mine again. I transferred her during the winter of 2017/18. I trained her and decided to try racing her. She was sent to Alencon 212 miles with the BICC 12/5/18. She returned from this race 79 days late. I then sent her to Coutances 145 miles CSCFC 04/05/19. She was 30 days late from this race. She was then sent to Fougeres 196 miles with the BBC 29/06/19. She was actually my first bird from this race arriving at 19.48 next day. Last year she was sent to Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. She was our 7th bird. She was then left before being sent to the Pau International 544 miles on the 17/07/20. She was our first bird 12 days late. I could try to send her to Barcelona this year.

A84E6F79 4043 4051 A3B0 D914E4518675

GB17F14535 bred by myself. She had 5 inland races to 83 miles as a youngster. She was then sent to Alencon 212 miles BICC 12/05/18. She was my second bird taking 142nd section 1234th Open. She was then sent to Poitiers 343 miles BICC 09/06/18. She was 91 days late. She was sent to Coutances 145 miles CSCFC 04/05/19. She was 18 days late. Then I sent her to Le Mans 240 miles BICC 06/07/19. From this one she was 11 days late. Last year I couldn’t get her right from training so didn’t race her. So as you can see she hasn’t done much yet. I have got to promising youngsters out of her. I will have to see how she is and could send her to Barcelona.

D5B7749D 1E4C 47F4 A9A2 5F82681F3307

GB17V54346 bred by George. She had 5 inland races as a youngster and was 5th club twice. She was sent to Messac 225 miles CSCFC 26/05/18. She was 18 days late from this race. She then went to Le Mans 240 miles BICC 07/07/18. She was my first bird taking 30th section 461st Open. In 2019 she had her first race from Messac 225 miles CSCFC 25/05/19. She was my second bird taking 81st section 442nd Open. She then went to Fougeres 196 miles with the BBC 29/06/18. She arrived 3 days late. Last year she was sent to Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. She made a complete hash of this race arriving 40 days late. She is Roxanna’s favourite and I was in so much trouble when she was missing from Falaise so probably won’t be raced again. I have got a nice yearling that I bred for Murray from her so may take a couple more youngsters from her this year.

EF364032 41F2 4BA5 B1AF 1603D0513F55

GB19B05852 bred by Pete. As a youngster she was sent to Guernsey 109 miles CSCFC 24/08/19. She was found in the loft early next morning. She was then sent to Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. This was a very fast race. She was our first bird taking 91st section 102nd Open. She then went to Poitiers 343 miles BICC 11/07/20. She was our third bird on the day flying 13 hours 32 minutes and taking 88th section 738th Open. I also have two nice youngsters from her. Really looking forward to racing her this year hopefully to Pau.

543B55DF 4221 412C 8B75 2F62B2C1EA6B

GB19B05857 bred by Devo & CDBL. She was sent to Guernsey 109 miles CSCFC 24/98/19 as a youngster. She arrived during the afternoon next day. She was then very poor with PMV early 2020. I almost culled her a couple of times but there was something about her that stopped me. She was sent to Falaise 178 miles BICC 13/06/20. She was our eleventh bird. She was then sent to Poitiers 343 miles BICC 11/07/20. She was 22 days late. Aiming for Pau this year.

0AD68378 FA90 4CF5 8865 6C87D9681B13

GB19B05883 bred by Phil. She was trained but not raced as a youngster. Last year as a yearling she was hawked from a trainer and in a bit of a state. I never got the chance to race her so unraced so far. Will still be aiming at getting her to Pau.

Lastly We have 4 latebreds. Not sure what I’m going to do with these this year yet. May send them with the BICC young bird AA races.

4753830E 2DC8 426A B67C BD96AD3BA861

GB18B02753 (Old ring) probably a cock bred out of GB19B05864 bred by me X WHU14D06359 bred by Rich.

052C67C6 A481 42D6 8FF3 5A796EFD9828

GB18B02754 (Old ring) probably a hen. Nestmate to above.

053968E0 08B8 486B 959B 356458EEB78F

GB20B08437 I think a hen, bred out of GB19B05849 from John & Ben X GB19B05852 from Pete.

29F9E992 2253 4EEE A78D 7B4328A3B5FC

GB20B08447, I think a cock, nestmate to above. These two I think could be very useful being out of two yearlings that were on the day from Poitiers 343 miles,

I think you have already proved to yourself distance pigeons can do without racing as babies....just steady training down to weymouth with local trainers....and these good looking latebreds are really just babies with decent coats on..they could find it so hard if bicc liberators do their"normal" thing...what a shame that would be.

Thinking towards future years...the latebreds you bred would probably be from the best distance performance racers of each year......and thinking further on ...When you get top results from certain pigeons....at the long end...light training and perhaps into stockloft could be a wise investment for future years...young...full of strength....and the right breeding

I agree with what your saying Johnny. I will be looking to breed the odd latebreds each year from the birds that have preformed well during that season. I must admit I hadn’t intended on breeding the 2 with old rings on. I went to throw the eggs away but they were chipping so couldn’t do it.

The other 2 were certainly intentional as the parents, both yearlings, were timed on the day from Poitiers 343 miles. Both flying between 13 hours and 13 and a half hours. So probably had flown a lot more than 343 miles.

As I now have the stock section it would certainly be something worth considering in the future.
