At midday today I basketed the youngsters going to Coutances. Marking for me was at 1.30pm. It was a bit of a rush as our delivery was a bit late coming in and I had to do a delivery of frozen dog food on the way to marking.

Our birds all looked and handled well. All the ETS rings were correct and worked. I selected 12 of the 30 youngsters. I could have sent more but had only put down for 12 and want some for next week. I tried to send something from each member but still have others from all members that could go next week or the following week. The ones selected were because of nest position, and the moult. 2 hens have just left their eggs and another pair would probably have come off during the week so probably won’t be right for either of the other 2 races so have sent them this week. I left out a couple of pairs that have either just laid or should do in the next few days. These should be fine for next week or the week after. A few are falling apart and if they remain that way they won’t be raced this year. If their heads are better they could still get a race.

So those marked today are:

GB20B08402 Blue Hen bred by Pete for Muzza

GB20B08403 Dark Chequer Hen bred by Pete

GB20B08405 Blue Chequer Hen bred by Pete

GB20B08409 Blue Chequer Hen bred by John & Ben

GB20B08415 Dark Chequer Pied Cock bred by Phil

GB20B08421 Dunn Hen bred by Leslie

GB20B08422 Dark Chequer Pied Hen bred by Leslie

GB20B08424 Dark Chequer Cock bred by myself

GB20B08431 Blue Cock bred by myself

GB20B08441 Grizzle Hen bred by Trev

GB20B08442 Blue Cock bred by Trev

GB20B08446 Red Grizzle Cock bred by myself for Muzza.

Hopefully all will go well and we have a good race.

Well done Andy, a good decision to split the teams. You have put in the ground work, now lets hope the conditions are kind to you and the birds get the chance to do you and their breeders justice 🤞🤞

Good luck bruv.

Is this evenings news of France being removed from the Covid19 safe list likely to affect racing again Andy ???

Yes, good choice to split them, going over the water.

If it turns out a hard one, well, eggs in baskets.....

Very interesting to see how they go.

Good luck Andy!

Regards

Murray.

I have 2 pigeons entered in this, so I am quite seriously anxious about how it goes.

I am very pleased to be a part of the project, and again express my thanks to Andy and Pete.

I keep working out what time it is over there.

Pretty exciting! Smile

Regards

Murray.
